A.    Pronoun

This, that, these and those

This, that, these and those are demonstratives. We use this, that, these and those to point to people and things. This and that are singular. These and those are plural. We use them as determiners and pronouns.

What’s in this box? That water tastes strange. I might get myself a pair of those shoes.	Come and look at this. That’s a very good idea. Can I have one of these?

- This is an apple (ini adalah sebuah apel) 

Bendanya (apelnya) dekat tapi hanya satu buah apel (UNTUK BENDA TUNGGAL/SINGULAR)

- That is an apple (itu adalah sebuah apel) 

Bendanya (apelnya) jauh tapi hanya ada satu buah (UNTUK BENDA TUNGGAL/SINGULAR)

- These are apples ( ini adalah apel-apel) 

Bendanya (apelnya) dekat tapi ada lebih dari satu buah (UNTUK BENDA JAMAK/PLURAL)

- Those are apples (itu adalah apel-apel)
